Men and women in a relationship need to establish a happy medium between extreme chivalric behavior and the new found liberties of women brought about by the feministic movement.
1. The feminist movement drastically changed western culture by giving women more rights and allowed them to choose their own paths in life.
2. Women need to be able to accept chivalry without feeling threatened that they will be less respected or thought of as inferior.
a. In establishing their rights women have become defensive both towards defending those rights and themselves.
3. A man’s place in a relationship has changed but this doesn’t mean that he is no longer allowed to pamper the woman he is with; it means that men need to be more conscious of their chivalric actions and work to not offend the women.
a. Women are scared of losing the respect they have earned by the feminist movement.
